[DD1] Reality check
A grumble sounded from the displeased palomino’s chest, hooves slipping against the slick moss covering the rocks he was traversing. Why did he have to pick this path? Why? A huff left his nostrils as he attempted to reach the ledge above.
“It’s not my fault i got lost.”
He’d grumble under his breath.
“Then whose fault is it?”
A response would rumble out, deep and resounding.
“Well, clearly it’s my companion’s fault! They just left me!”
Ken would shake his head to get the long white hair out of his face, kicking off the rock below to leap onto the ledge above.
“We suppose this could be true.. But it seems you wandered, did you not?”
The voice sounded closer.
“I did wander, i guess.. But it can’t be my fault! There was a light and sound that drew me away!”
The courser would quip back.
Suddenly, the floor rumbled below his hooves. The courser would be unsteady on his hooves as the ledge he was standing on moved below him, bringing him face to face with what he could only assume to be some sort of golem.
“Is that what you’re seeking? The glow?”
The creature would inquire.
“Y-Yes? I guess? I’m looking for my friends first and foremost but the glow keeps appearing..”
The courser’s face faltered, his voice growing unsure as he leaned back on his haunches to gaze at the creature’s face.
“Hm.”
The creature would seem lost in thought.
What felt like an eternity passed before the creature would continue.
“Go on, then. Seek them out.”
The courser was lifted up to the ledge that lead him down the path he had chosen, giving an unsure nod to the creature before he’d step off it’s hand. “I will.”
Ken would be quick to move down the path, letting his body fall to the ground once he was out of sight from the creatures he encountered. Chest rising and falling with rapid and deep breaths of relief.
“Man.”
"You are climbing up a rocky incline when the ledge begins to shake, rolling under your hooves like joints being stretched. You have in fact stepped on several moss-covered golems. They don’t seem to mean you any harm, but you have awakened them from a restful slumber, and your way forward is above their shoulders. What do you say to these stone giants?"
