Lonely Nights
It had been a long day in the dungeon for the weld palomino stallion. Being tormented by bats and having to nimbly dance around pressure plates wedged into the floor, was more stress than it was rewarding. The frustration of not finding anything useful to him, helped him make the decision to call it quits early.
Even though the second level was sweltering, most of the danger was in the bright hot magma itself, unlike the first level where traps and minsters could come from seemingly nowhere. Oswin was able to find a small outcove in the back of a cave where it wasn't as warm as the rest of the area was, and decided to set up camp there. He knew exploring would be so much easier with a companion, but he was too stubborn. He needed to prove that he could do this on his own.
His ears perked up at the sound of hooves against the cracked stone, and he turned his head to find an ether mare at the mouth of the cave. Usually Oswin had some sore of remark to make about someone bothering him, but he was so tired, and if he was being honest with himself, he was incredibly lonely.
Oswin offered to share his space with the lugubrious mare, who he later learned went by Fetch. He would never admit that he was enjoying their company, and he would also never admit just how much he needed a connection with someone. Anyone. And so, the night went on, and so did a new beginning.
