Striding ahead into the dungeon, Moritz just a step behind me, I thought again about how frustratingly hot it is on this level. Ridiculous dungeon, but I'd heard rumours that the item I needed could be found here.
As I walked, the floor began to feel almost.. spongy? I looked down, and my eyes widened as I realised that the floor had cracks appearing in it around my hoofprints, lava seeping out of them to head directly for my hooves.
I began to sprint, without a thought for Moritz - if he can't keep up, he shouldn't be offering to guide people through the dungeon. As soon as I began to sprint, I felt Screech wrap his claws in my mane and hang on for dear life - he can't always travel as fast as I can, so this is his way of dealing with high speeds.
I sped as fast as I could, well aware that every time a hoof hit the ground, lava spewed up faster and faster. I galloped at a breakneck pace through the lava field, and quite literally threw myself towards the exit, jumping the last few feet to get out without burnt hooves. A few moments after I'd landed, Moritz touched down gently beside me. So he had survived the lava. Yay.
