Prompt: You enter a room in the Caverns full of massive, dangling pillars of silk. Upon further inspection, they are cocoons; in the light, you can see various giant caterpillars and moths in various stages of transformation. These vulnerable creatures could be valuable, but you’re not sure what dangers they may pose if disturbed. What do you do?

Jalil pushed the large leaves aside to get through. Holding them aside he allowed shadow, his loyal dark hound, to pass through before he went through and let the leaves swish close behind him. They entered a smaller cavern within the cave wall of the larger dungeon and they had not been expecting what they found.
As the light from Jalil’s lantern lit the space it revealed pillars of silk hanging from the ceiling. White in color and almost cloud like, Jalil wasn’t sure quite what to make of them until Shadow began to bark at one. Turning to look where the hound had been he saw it was squirming a bit. The black course approached, wanting to get a closer look.
As he got right up to the cocoon the light of his lantern revealed a shape inside, resembling a giant caterpillar three times larger than himself. Turning to another, he approached and found what looked like a moth or butterfly, almost fully formed and ready to break free of its silk bed. The more he wandered through the cavern the more stages he found amongst the cocoons.
Woof!
Turning, Jalil saw Shadow begin to nudge one with their nose.
“No, no, Shadow. We do not disturb these.”
Shadow whimpered in response.
“I know, they seem interesting but they are helpless and part of the ecosystem. And goodness knows what we might attract by opening one. Let’s go and leave them to their transformations.”
Shadow barked happily in response and wagged his tail.
Jalil led them back towards the entrance, heading back into the brush of the Overgrown Caverns to find something valuable but less damaging to collect.
