Velasco was making a steady pace through a series of narrow caverns when he suddenly heard an unexpected noise that made him stop in his tracks. Upon listening closer, he realized it was the frantic tapping of nearby hooves, and the whinnies of an unfamiliar voice. He navigated carefully in the direction of the sounds, until at last he came upon a chamber where another courser was pacing in small circles. He was pale cream in color and looked out of his depth. He looked quickly up at Velasco as he entered.

“Oh, thank goodness you found me!” The pale horse said upon seeing him.

“You were waiting for someone to find you?” Velasco asked curiously.

“Well, I’m a bit lost, you see, and these tight chambers are making me a little claustrophobic.”

“Oh.”

“You know the way out, right?”

Velasco looked over his shoulder at the corridor he’d come from, thinking for a moment.

“Yeah, just about.” 

“Wonderful! Let’s get out of here, then, if it’s all the same to you.”

Velasco nodded and turned around to begin leading the way out of the dungeon.

“My name is Rufus, by the way.” The pale horse said as they trekked through the caverns.

“Mine’s Velasco.” Velasco responded, after a moment. 

“Good to meet you, Velasco. Thank you so much for helping me.”

“No problem.”
