Vakarine noticed when her eldest returned,
Their soul had shifted as they always had yearned.
But magical power, it was not gained for free.
She turned to her co-parent, to know what they see.

But Mantis shook their head with a sense confusion.
"I Know nothing that would lead to this conclusion..."
They softly murmured. It was then so decided,
To follow their eldest to see what provided.

She had a guess, but Vakarine hoped she was wrong...
Auseklenis's soul now sung a familiar song.
She was not wrong. The parents entered the furnace.
They were stopped by Spawn, told: "It did not concern us."

"This is our eldest child, please, you must understand..."
Vakarine had been a fool, to be dealt this hand.
She had explained her magic before to each foal,
But she hadn't expected one to sell their soul.

A devil's seek, now certain, their eldest had sought.
They feared what their previous honesty had wrought.
When at last they were past, they saw their wayward child,
And a ritual done, with red-eyed devil, wild.

In the center of the circle, soon led away,
Was a brand new life, their grandchild, to their dismay.
"Oneiros, what have you done?" Vakarine, aghast.
He spoke, "I have only done that which I was asked."

But devils always lied, and she felt betrayed.
She wished she had begun of him always afraid,
Because now her tentative trust had been misplaced,
And now she all had was this bitter aftertaste.

"I trusted you," she spoke softly, not to be heard.
Oneiros looked confused, for he had caught her word,
"I am what I am. I can't change my creation."
She wondered if she should've left him to damnation.

But that was not her nature, no matter his sins.
"Why are you mad?" Her grown Auseklenis begins.
"I have magic now, as I have always wanted."
At their words, both parents feel even more daunted.

Mantis though stunned, finally speaks to their eldest,
"Was it worth abandoning a child to hell dust?"
But then they Know what their eldest would soon reply,
"...Nevermind," they say, knowing it's not cut and dry.

"Walk with us?" Auseklenis says, devil wary,
Even for him, (re)meeting in-laws seems scary.
But the four, grudgingly so, walked together.
Vakarine clung to Mantis, sanity's tether.

The walk is silent, until the ground fills with oil.
"What is this?" Their eldest, curious, no recoil.
Oneiros is quiet, but Mantis, knowing this,
They now say: "Careful, caution would not be amiss."

Soon they see it, that odd, dark coffin compelling.
With their minds in disarray, there's no foretelling
What will soon occur... Oneiros plans an escape,
Chanting the words to make certain magic take shape.
