the problem of spike pits

Sometimes Hymmn’s luck manifests in the strangest way possible.

One time te was walking alone down a corridor they never visited before. Hymmn was unsure if it was something that te missed on ter maps or if somehow a new passing opened when no one was looking. The dungeon was no stranger to suddenly changing the layout but usually it happened in big swoops that meant it was time to remap everything. Single corridor opening up was rather unusual.

But the corridor was there and the map was empty and this was just the first level of the dungeon so? Should be no problems, right?

Wrong, spike pit.

Hymmn wasn’t even sure when it happened. One moment te was walking the other te was falling eyes wide, rusted spikes shining in the light of a torch. Hymmn probably screamed. There was no way te didn’t scream. But honestly te didn’t remember if te did or not.

But Hymmn is lucky. And as such te managed to twist while falling in a way that te ended up tangled between the spikes.

“He-help?” Hymmn called out weakly still breathing heavily.

It took te awhile to get terself together. But slowly, really slowly te managed to stand up. And then it turned out that the pit was very, very shallow. It was comical when Hymmn stood there, head above the hole and just blinked.

“Oh well,” te said.

Hymmn got out of the hole quickly and marked on a map that this place needs to be revisited and the spike pit marked properly.
