[DD2] Zoro, No, What? Why? Fine...
Salamanders are valuable to sell as alchemical components, but they are also overhunted and becoming scarce. You find one that has strayed too far from the magma, its skin beginning to cool and harden. It would be easy to capture it like this. What do you do?
Zoro and Crispin trotted through the hot dungeons. Magma bubbling on either side of them. Ahead of them, they could see a room. “Treasure?” Zoro asked. “Possibly. Let’s find out.” Crispin said excitedly. With enchanted cloths hung over both of the boy’s shoulders, the hot dungeon didn’t feel that hot.
As they trotted to the room, a blue salamander caught Zoro’s eye. “Crispin, wait, there’s a salamander.” Zoro called out, stopping to check on the little guy. “Oh really? I haven’t seen one in quite a while.” Crispin said, coming over to investigate.
The little blue salamander was a bit too far from the magma. Its blue skin was quickly turning a much deeper blue, and hardening. “What should we do?” Zoro asked. “It’s your find, you can do whatever you’d like.” Crispin said, snorting as a draft of hot air entered his nostrils. “It’s so cute.” Zoro said, chuffing at it. The little salamander just looked at Zoro with a perplexed look. “How could we sell this little guy?” Zoro asked. “We aren’t doing anything. It’s your find, thus your decision.” Crispin corrected. “I want to keep it!” Zoro pleaded. “You have Zeno.” Crispin offered. “Yeah, but this guy is so adorable!!” Zoro squealed. Zeno, at the mention of his name, came from the magma. “Zeno, put a little magma on the salamander!” Zoro commanded. Zeno grabbed a little bit of the dripping magma and carefully put it on the salamander. The tiny salamander rolled around in the magma, its skin returning to a beautiful lighter blue.
“I want to keep it!” Zoro squealed. “Alright, but how do you plan on keeping it alive? Do you even know what it eats?” Crispin asked. The smile on Zoro’s face hardened. “No.” He sighed. “They eat small bugs that live near magma.” Crispin sighed. He couldn’t believe he was actually going to help Zoro take the salamander home.
“Really?” Zoro piped up. “Yeah. Zeno will help keep it alive until we can get something enchanted to keep it alive.” Crispin sighed, he had to admit, the little blue salamander was adorable. “Yay, oh my god! I have a salamander!!” Zoro jumped up and down with joy. “Yes you do. And I have a headache. Do you want to keep moving or not?” Crispin asked. “Sorry!” Zoro squealed. “Mhm.” Crispin grunted.
