Weary from her journey thus far, Jade continued to press on in hopes of finding some way through the dungeon. Her hooves echoed with each step through the mossy passage causing her to give a heavy sigh. The sound itself was almost maddening after all that she had listened this far but something caught her attention. A gentle babbling sound of water began to grow louder as she drew closer to the source.
As she entered the larger chamber of the caves, she was greeted with an impressive sight. A beautiful brook flowed over stone and through the chamber into a much larger pool to the center. The water was crystal clear and glistened an iridescent shimmer with a scent as sweet as fresh picked flowers.

The courser felt her shoulders relax and her body grow tired at such a tranquil place. "Thanks above I needed this." she spoke to herself in a soft prayer to whoever was watching over her. "Brep" a croak replied from beneath her. Startled, Jade flinched stepping away from the waters edge looking to where the sound had come from. To her surprise, a large toad sat upon a rock gazing back at her with its strange eyes. Its throat made a pulse like movement before it inhaled and let out another yet longer "Breeeeeep"

"This must be your home." Jade replied amused to have found something so talkative here after, oh haybells she could not remember how long she'd been traveling to this point. Moving around the toad, she eyed the water once more watching it's shimmering colors swirl with the movement of the gentle current. Her throat was dry and her supplies were running low so perhaps this would be the break she was looking for.

Moving to step into the water with careful hoofsteps, she made her way to the waters edge and lowered her head letting the cold water wash over her muzzle. The toad shifted upon it's stone and looked to the equine a moment before scuttling over to her hoof. It's chubby leg pressing against her hoof as if to push her away from the waters edge. Seeing as the courser paid no attention to the toad, it inflated it's whole body and gave out a might "BREEEEP" to gain her attention.

Jade finished taking a few large sips of the water before turning to look at the toad. Spitting some water at the small creature she whinnied in amusement "There, you can have some as well." she teased playfully. The toad seemed none to amused by this and instead rubbed over its face with its small feet. Scrabbling away from the courser, the toad made its way back onto the perch it once guarded and sat watching vigilantly.

Jade flicked her tail lazily and yawned feeling the exhaustion weighing heavily upon her. Having drank enough for now, she moved away from the waters edge to a mossy patch. Her eyes watched the small critter for a moment before shaking her head amused "Guardian of the sacred waters.." she mumbled before laying upon the moss to rest for awhile.
