[HARD] A Group of Strangers and The Water Pits of The Dungeon

There was no real describing the group of strange coursers as they made their way through the dungeon.

There was Lolth and Solemn of course, and they knew each other well. But between the strange dark marks on their neck like from the bite of a dracula bat and their cryptic conversations, it was easy to see they were far from normal. They'd refused to cross running water, claiming it was due to Lolth's looming fire elemental, but Ymir and the Librarian couldn't help but notice it was actually he who seemed off put by the current. And when they'd found the waterlogged tunnels that head lead to a cistern, neither Solemn nor Lolth had no problems stepping down into the murk, which, seemed off.

Ymir was not the sort to be suspicious or superstitious, but more than a few time the Librarian, in all her wide-eyed glory had called them vampires, and they were fairly certain she was right.

Stomping around the dim dank, the smell of stagnant water and moisture laden air heavy in their nostrils, Ymir was struggling to figure out why they were down here in the first place. The Apothecary had told them that the Librarian needed to go down to look for a book, but now that they were down here, she had been of no use, simply following along behind, her long mane and tail dragging across the earth as she muttered softly into nothingness. He wasn't even sure why the vampires were here either. She'd said it was necessary but-

Ymir's ears flicked, attention snapping away from their thoughts at the distant sound of a much louder splash than any of the four of them could make. Orb, Ymir's grisly floating friend, raised a bit higher in the air, its single green eye blinking as it turned this way and that, searching for the source of the noise. It let out a noise (from where, Ymir did not know, but knew better than to question) alerting them to the surge of water that was heading towards them quickly.

"Everyone! Quickly, we need to head back the way we came!" Their voice was brusque but soft as velvet, as full of mysteries as space. "Something is coming!"

The Librarian's eyes darted, bulging uncomfortably as she watched the water mound get closer and closer. "Servant of the wate-"

"No time for that old hag!" Solemn's words were sharp as a cat's claws as they pushed her, breaking her out of whatever it was she was saying and forcing her to move back. "We have far to go and not a lot of time, that thing is quick and will catch us if we sit around listing what it might be."

Lolth, the fire elemental, and Solemn were already moving, only Ymir and the Librarian really lingering. Ymir didn't want to linger, but they were following closely on her heels, and it was all they could do to push the willowy courser along in front of them, her hooves shooting up a fine spray of reeking water as they shoved her along the surface. "No time to wait, your husband is waiting back home and your child is too, so no stopping now!" Their eyes darted up, spotting Orb go flying ahead at a much faster pace. "Coward!" Ymir couldn't help but shout after their pet as it fled before them.

long title because I feel like that's what Ymir would call it in their writings.

Your path leads you down a dank corridor and into a vast cistern. You must wade through dark, stagnant waters, your sloshing steps echoing into the dark forest of columns. The sound is answered by a louder splash and in the distance the water’s surface bulges over a shape rushing toward you.
