A towering, gnarled tree spread out before Tarnish, uncanny and ill-seeming in this setting. It contrasted starkly against the stonework that it's roots dug into like gnarled, clawed hands, like a creature crawling up from the earth.
Tarnish admired it for a moment or two, before shaking their head, forcing himself to look for something of worth, something her clients were after. Pale bones glinted, tangled amongst some of the smaller roots.

He did have someone looking for bones. They stepped towards the tree, slow and careful, eyes camming to see which of the bones, if any, would prove easy to dislodge.

"You've taken the rest of these ones passed, I presume. You've no real use for these. I have someone with use for them, Elder. Is that permissible?" The creaking and swaying in the branches above remained the same - no rebuke from the ancient tree came.

They nodded.

"Alright then. I will bring kill to you, another time, to lay among your roots. A delayed exchange to benefit us both."

They slipped forward to sort through the bones under the boughs.
