[EASY] It's always Victor's fault

The moment you enter the next room, a green gas begins to seep through vents in the floor. Your snouts and lungs are choked by a foul odor unlike any your party has ever smelled before, even those who have encountered the dead. The entrance to the next chamber is near, but you’re beginning to feel faint.

Lucky trotted into the room, followed by Auryn and Slate. “Lucky?” Auryn asked. “Auryn, I’m over here.” Lucky called over. Auryn trotted over to him. Victor finally, hesitantly entered the room. The moment he did, the doors slammed shut. “Lucky! Run!” Victor screamed as a green gas started coming out of vents on the floor.

Slate booked it to the far wall, where an entrance to another chamber was waiting. Lucky panicked, and instead of running to the next chamber’s entrance, ran back to Victor. “Lucky!” Auryn called, as the green gas began swirling around her.

Auryn

I could hear hissing, like some kind of gas was leaking. I heard Victor screaming for Lucky to run. My head felt like it wasn’t working, because even though I knew I should run, to save Ace if not myself, I couldn’t. I was frozen in place, unable to move. I heard hooves slamming into the ground, and the next thing I know, I can’t breathe. Some sort of odd gas choking me. Ace screeches, digging his sharp talons into my back.

I’m brought back to reality, my lungs screaming for air, and my snout, and skin feeling on fire. “Bloody hell!” I scream, and run, anywhere. I slam into a wall, pain running through my entire body. I try to take a breath, but can’t. I fall to the ground, dying.

Lucky

As I ran to Victor, I caught a glimpse of Auryn. She was panicking. I paused. Should I help Victor, or should I help Auryn? I decided to help Victor first, since I was closer to him. As I ran over, the gas entered my nostrils. I coughed and gasped for air. “Run, Victor, run!” I choked out. Victor’s eyes went wild, and for a moment I was worried for my safety. A cloud of gas surrounded me. The gas seeped into my eyes, tears falling. I felt a shove, and remembered where I was. I ran, Victor by my side. Even with the tears falling, I can see Auryn falling over. “Auryn!” I choke, Victor following my lead and dragging her to the next chamber.

We take a long moment to gather our breath, and just breathe in the next chamber. “You, you ran towards me. Even though I was the furthest from the exit.” Victor stated, a tear dropping from his eye; surely from the gas. “You screamed for me to run.” I declared, blood rushing to my head. My legs shook a little, I prayed Victor wouldn’t notice. “That doesn’t mean anything. I know you the best.” Victor grunted. “I call shit.” Slate laughed. “Stay the fuck out of this.” Victor and I said at the same time. We looked at each other, puzzled. “I can’t believe you-” Victor started. “Can you blame me?” I asked. Victor dropped his head. “No.” He whispered. I paused. I wasn’t expecting that. “So, you think-” This time I paused. “I don’t know.” Victor sighed, looking me in my eyes. His eyes full of hunger and need.

Auryn started stirring. Of course it would be me in the middle of a love triangle. I let another tear fall from my eye. Victor would have no way of knowing it was a genuine tear, not just one caused by the gas.
