Prompt: You enter a chamber in search of treasure, but find only a pile of clay pots. You’re about to turn away when they come alive, their lids yammering like mouths. They complain of the Wizard’s negligence, and that c’mon, they’re starving here. Do you give them an offering?

River trotted into the chamber, hoping to find treasure of some kind in there. Pebble rode upon their head, looking over the room and taking note of the many, many pots. Pebble scurried off of River’s head and hurried over to begin exploring, hopping into a pot without its lid.

“Don’t do that you disrespectful bug!” one pot clattered.

Pebble jumped and ran from the pot, charging up River’s legs and onto their head. Suddenly there was a cacophony of noise as all the pots began to yammer, begging for offerings, attention. Some scold the bug and courser for disturbing them at all. Some mentioned the wizard which made River lift a brow and wonder what the wizard had to do with these strange pots and making a mental note to speak to the wizard when they got the chance.

“Quiet! Please!” River begged.

A hush fell over the chamber.

“If I give you each a shiny will you leave us be? Will this satisfy you?”

“Yes!” “Yeees!” “Please!” “Oh, shinies!”

They all began to chime at once.

Pulling out a bag of marbles, River began to distribute them with the help of Pebble. The little beetle first brought one to the pot they had inspected earlier and then to the one who scolded them, as if trying to apologize.

“You are forgiven, little beetle,” the scolding pot chimed, pleased with the offering.

They left with less than they entered, but they had helped out the pots at least and felt lighter inside as well.
