[DD1] Water Fit For A Stallion

Chant had been trotting for a time, hooves happily clopping on the ground beneath him. He had heard rumors that apparently the best water to drink was at the top of a certain cliff, and this water was rather special...said to give whoever drank it the most elegant mane of all coursers!

...as if he would truly believe such a tale. But with the water being so high up he knew it was bound to probably taste like the skies above, and that was enough to tempt him. As he was making his way up he was careful not to slip on the rocks, however his journey was about to become rather troublesome. The ground beneath him quaked, shivering with low groans of dissatisfaction.

"Curses!" Yelped the stallion. He quickly regained his balance, chest heaving as he stared down below him. This rocky structure was more than...a rocky structure. It was a golem! Chant could feel his mind whirl slightly, hopping down to observe the creatures before him (and all around him). They didn't seem to be harmful, but it would be no surprise that they felt groggy after suddenly being woken up after who knows how long.

Chant's ears fell back and his tail whipped the air out of uncertainty. He dug his hoof into the dirt below him as he looked at the golem directly in front of him. "Excuse me! Yes, you. I'm dreadfully sorry for waking you, but I must get past."

The golem watched Chant silently, blinking slowly as pebbles fell from its large, sluggish body. Perhaps it didn't understand, or it didn't care. Was it even listening??

Chant frowns, waiting a moment before taking a step closer. "If you could just move a bit that would be amazing. I need to get up that path." He motioned his head to the path past the golem, hoping it would look to see.

Much to his luck, the golem slowly turned its body to look at the path, then turned back to look down at the horse. If this were a hostile creature, the stallion might've not been so lucky. However, he was. The golem groaned again, rumbling the earth beneath it as it moved just enough for the other to pass before it went to rest again.

Chant's ears perked forward in surprise. He hasn't the time for thanks, dipping his head and rushing to continue onward. Once at the top he looked around with a racing heart.

And alas, it was there! This rumored pond seemed to be true, and quite the reward as well. Recent rain has cleansed the water, leaving it cold and crisp for whoever wanted a drink. A most satisfying reward indeed. And perhaps...an elegant mane in his near future?
