Frosting stood motionless, as he usually did, the air around him seemed to ring slightly so. His ears were reacting. His dragon crouching in between his legs, hidden. Something’s…wrong. And then the something came into reality, it seemed to ripple with heat and a gust of hot wind pushed through the corridors like a breath from a mother- bigger dragon. Frosting wasn’t one to understand parenthood, but he’d heard it before. From the one. He didn’t like thinking of the one. The heat started to get to him while he was lost in thoughts, the temperature had spiked.

He turned, to face the gust of wind and now, before him, stood a figure cloaked in flames, its face hidden in the shadow of a hood that burned without being consumed. The flames crackled. And Frosting felt almost hypnotized by it. He couldn’t take his eyes off it. And a feeling kicked in. The melancholy started to cripple in. And his one only thought was to close the distance so he could feel the heat up in his face. It was soothing. The freedom and exciting feeling would surely spark something in him. Anything at all. Frosting’s pale eyes flickered through the edges, making his first step. Entranced. The figure made no sound, no words. ‘Good.’ He didn’t care for what he had to say, just this feeling. The feeling he wanted to ride through until the end. He didn’t need anything. Nothing was worth it anymore. And then he heard a cackle from underneath him. “Dragon?” It’d been a while since he had been found by this creature. But he had yet to give him a name, it was only Dragon for now. Suited his demeanor enough. Because despite being as small as he was, he was still the dragon. And there he was, protecting Frosting. Spitting what he could, his lungs filling in and exhaling with all his strength and might. But the flames couldn’t do more than get engulfed, almost eaten by the strange figure’s flaming cloak Frosting focuses on his flames and snapped out of it. “Ah.” He sighed, ‘I did it again didn’t I’. Frosting put on a worried expression and shaked his head, flip flopping his ears. He could only squint now, the flames got much bigger, fiercer, the heat grew warmer. Was that how you felt. Was that all you were to me. Was I- “Agh.” He felt the tears wanting to come out of his eye sockets, but not because he was getting scalded, but because his heart ached. He missed him so much. So much, he didn’t care for anything else in that moment. He felt so far gone. He picked up dragon in a hurried fashion and sprinted out of the scene, looking back at the pretty sight the flames casting on everything else including the floor was.

The memories he tried so hard not to think of came flooding, raw and overwhelming. Was he ever going to be ok, truly.
