The furnace is nothing new to Rhodes, it's a dangerous area he has often patrolled to keep foolish young coursers from burning themselves to a crisp. He takes his time in the heat, as he walks by lava pools and smoldering remains of the Buried Kingdom. He knows from experience that exertion should be saved for emergencies, as even the strongest of coursers can be brought down by heatstroke.

The paths of the dungeon are well-worn in this area. Rhodes takes his time with his head hanging and eyes half closed to avoid the smoke that permeates this particular corridor. While losing himself in thought, his ears perk up at the sound of a crackling flame. He follows the sound around a corner where he comes face to face with a humanoid engulfed by fire. The person's face isn't visible, most of it hidden under a flaming cloak and the rest being covered by the flickering flames. Rhodes knows this is not a typical being in this area, he's never seen anything like him before. The figure stretches out its hands as if asking for an offering.

Rhodes tries to peer under the hood for a glimpse of the person but still only sees flames. The hands remain open, and Rhodes pauses before asking "What do you want from me?"

The figure does not speak, it remains motionless except for the flames dancing around his body. Rhodes noses his shoulder pack open, carefully grabbing a vial of aloe gel with his teeth. He typically carries a few to treat the burns of fellow coursers in the furnace, but this time he deposits the vial into the awaiting hands. The cloaked figure closes his hands, bows his head, and retreats back into the winding paths of the furnace. Rhodes watches the singed cloak disappear before closing his pack and returning to his travels.
