The dungeon's air was thick with tension as the party stood at the edge of a yawning abyss. The wood bridge they needed to cross, slick and weathered from centuries of decay, was narrow—no more than a foot across—and stretched out over the void like a cruel joke. There were no railings, no safety measures. One misstep, and any of them would plummet into the dark, never to be seen again.

"We have no other choice" 

Dacite muttered, her voice steady but low. She glanced back at the others. 

"We have to cross."

Darling, ever the optimist, gave a half-hearted chuckle. 

"Oh sure, it’s just a quick stroll across certain death. No big deal, right?" 

He peered over the edge, his usual smile faltering as the abyss seemed to stare back. 

"Well... ladies first?”

Dacite snarled, already tired of the flirty stallion's antics, but before any of them could respond, Cass took a tentative step.

“I'll go first”

The rest of the party watched, holding their breath as Cass inched forward. The silence was oppressive, broken only by the soft scrape of his hooves against the ancient wood. 

“Its safe to come”

Despite his words, the party didn't rush to his side. Dacite was the next to adventure into the bridge, and soon Flake followed, hesitatingly, Darling also joined, not without a few complaints under his breath.

The stallion, standing just behind her companion, tapped his hoof anxiously. 

"You know, I was really hoping this dungeon would have more treasure and less... bottomless pits. Really puts a damper on the mood." 

He tried to keep his voice light, but the tightness in his tone betrayed his fear.

“It will be okay, if anyone, Cass would be the first to die”

Flake had never heard Dacite joke before, her dark humor made them shiver a bit, but even Cass laughed.
