[DD1] To Know Love and Friendship

Aquilo bobs his head in appreciation, this would be his first outing or well inning to the Dungeon since his guided tours underneath the helpful hooves of the Dungeon Charters, his Sire and Dam, and a huge force of Coursers that served his Sire's reign. Now, he was in the depths with only a single servant, better yet to say Peregrine was his manservant, closer advisor and confidant.

A friend if you will.

A friend that was sworn to his and his own safety whilst delving beneath the surface. A friend that speaks when his tongue decides that it would otherwise remain still in his mouth. A friend that has taken him home to meet his family, of those in the orphanage, Aquilo would mean.

The long whispy and wavy pallid mane flutters across his cheeks as he stands over a giant smooth stone in the pathway, faint ridges forming a circular pattern from the edge to a tight coil in the middle as if something had tried to drill into the stone. Was it the worker of a miner or jewelsmith? Some Courser that sought to divine the nature of its smoothness?

His face flashes through a series of ponderous emotions as the other Courser steps forward to appraise what has caught his attention so throughly so.

"Aquilo... You do know this is a snail's shell, yes?" The rich dark voice of Peregrine sounds in his fluttering ears, a purple blush staining his silvery skin with ignorance.

"Ah! Good on you, Peregrine. I have never seen one of this size, it appeared almost as if it were stone. A calcification, presumably?" His airy, noble tones respond, revealing his train of thought to the other.

Peregrine huffs out a laugh, his groomed, oiled and yet scraggly forelock flipped up with the exhalation, "Presumably." His tone fondly mocking and a mimicry of the noble cadence, the Courser had been trying to get Aquilo to branch out so to speak with his language for nearly as long as they have known each.

The two of them having met in foal hood as Young Heir and Master to the House to Apprentice Servant and Butler. A royal to an orphan whom still had nose splattered on his wobbly legs.

Aquilo smiles, the small grin curling his silvery lips enough to expose his mirth and amusement to the other, "No doubt." He mocks in return, slim legs twisting to face the girther Courser and his dark gaze.

Peregrine's velvety muzzle drops, chest rumbling with quiet hearty laughter and he knocks his hindquarters into his own; the weight sending him rocking and skittering across the open pathway with an oomph.

They would never tire of each other it would seem and Aquilo was all the more glad for it, where he would be without it, who could know. They go beyond the parameters set by their elders, having sought and secured a geniune connection. A friendship that will carry them for as long as they lived and loved each other. Aquilo and Peregrine.

"The path is completely blocked by what seems at first to be a smooth boulder. Upon further inspection, it is the shell of an enormous snail. What do you do?"
