Long before he was wise to the ways of the dungeons, Solomon mentored under older delvers. From a young age, Solomon was taken in by the Order of Peace, a group of coursers who lived by philosophies of healing and helping. Acolytes of the Order had different roles. Some would be dedicated Watchers, who descended into the tunnels with the intent to help lost coursers and lead them to safety. Some acted as healers, never venturing at all into the dungeons at all but aiding those who had by tending to them upon their return. Of course, these healers often needed ingredients for their elixirs. Foragers took on the task of seeking out ingredients in the dungeons.

Today was the day of a field trip to train the next generation of Acolytes. Ephraim was the name of the Order teacher and chaperone for the trip. Ephraim had requested assistance from Moritz and Crispin, renown coursers who had been traveling the halls of the dungeons long before Solomon could stand on all four legs. And so Moritz and Crispin had led a young, nervous Solomon through the Overgrown Caverns, and deeper into the earth. The group had just come across into the Earthen Furnace.

Mortiz and Crispin led a group of coursers of various ages, of which Solomon was only one of many. He lingered near the back. Occassionally, the group would stop so that Ephraim could teach the younger coursers about a plants or potion ingredients they came across. Solomon listened intently, but rarely spoke.

Eventually, they came upon a cobblestone bridge, and again Ephraim paused at the head of it to discuss a group of magma bats flying overhead. Solomon scooted along the edge of the group to stand closer to the adults. Crispin and Moritz lingered by the start of the bridge's incline. Never wanting to be the focus of attention, the pale cremello courser chose to step behind the two more experienced  coursers, their presence a reassurance in this new level of the dungeon.

There was a soft click as Solomon moved between the two of them, and Crispin and Mortiz jumped into action immediately. Just as flames jetted from the floor, Mortiz dragged Solomon back to the group and Crispin leapt between the younger horses and the bridge. Solomon felt the sharp scorch of flame against his tail, and the smell of burning hair. He stumbled to the ground as Mortiz stamped out the flames engulfing his long pale tail hairs.

In attempting to avoid attention, Solomon had done the opposite. He looked up to a dozen eyes, and the agony of embarassment was worse than the sting on his rump.

"I-I apologize," he blurted. Crispin snorted, but whether it was out of humor or annoyance, Solomon still doesn't know.

As you enter a narrow corridor, your hoof lands on a loose cobble and triggers a trap. intermittent flames thrust up from the vents lining the floors. Courser be nimble – how do you make it to the other side?
