Loud clipping and clapping echoed the halls as Madoc trotted. He paused for a moment as he spotted some gold out of the corner of his eye. “Gold.” He whispered to himself. Sol cawed and lept off of Madoc’s back, and to the gold. “Sol.” Madoc hissed. Sol paid little mind to him. Madoc sighed and entered the room. He began stuffing gold into his bag. Sol cawed and threw a few pieces into Madoc’s bag. 

Madoc nudged a large stone of gold, much too large to bring along. As he did, he realized his fatal mistake. A large group of cave bugs flew up and began harassing the war general. Madoc ran out of the room, and down the hall, Sol and the cave bugs hot on his tail. 

After he finally escaped the bugs, he found Sol munching on a few that got caught in his mane. The stallion sighed, accepting the fact that Sol would never change. “We’ve got to find Auryn.” He said with a sigh, and continued trotting on.
