Vaayu Part IV

That dang thing! It was horrendous as if it had come from your worst nightmares. It didn't even look equine, more humanoid in form, blue and gray scales adorning its body like an armor. The face of the creature had a mouth filled with teeth, and a protuberance in its head that illuminated slightly beforehand. With gills and fins on its stomach, there was no denying that this creature belonged to the water.

And now it had Phoebe.

The poor mare was doing what she could, kicking and biting, but the threat of drowning was too much, as the monster kept dragging her further and further down the drain.

Vaayu didn't think twice, with Crispin still injured, and Mortiz not knowing how to swim, he was the only one that could help at the moment. So he didn't hesitate to launch into the water, his hooves crushing the creature underneath him, who let go of Phoebe and swam away.

The blue stallion helped the mare out to the water. She was trembling, but managed to shoot him an appreciative smile.

“Good job, kiddo” Shouted Mortiz, who had snapped out of his thoughts and was helping Crispin walk towards the other two.

“That was one of the bravest things I have ever seen” The injured stallion added, his tone had a hint of respect in it now.

“It was nothing, really”

“Nothing? Damn, youngling! Apart from being courageous, you are humble!” Vaayu had never seen Mortiz laugh like that, but it felt good to be acknowledged like that.

After checking that Phoebe was alright, just a bit shaken, the group returned to their adventures.
