With bolstered confidence from successfully conquering the last obstacle, Corvus led her party into the next chamber with a puffed-out chest and her head held high.

The dungeon walls opened like a massive atrium, except instead of open sky around them, it was pitch black darkness. The path ahead of them narrowed, the ground dropping away into a pit of darkness that left them with a stone bridge maybe ten feet across. It was enough to give even Corvus pause. A cool draft drifted up from the abyss around them, snuffing out their light sources and leaving them in almost total darkness. Corvus took a few slow steps back, bumping into one of the others, pretty sure it was Gambit judging by the irritated huff that came in response. She cleared her throat, some of the confidence having clearly left her voice when she spoke. "Well, at least it was definitely a straight path ahead of us. As long as we make sure it's one hoof in front of the other--"

She was interrupted by a low rumbling, gradually escalating in volume. "Uh, you guys hear that too, right?" she asked, and she was certain now the ground underhoof had startled to tremble, too. Just what they needed: more booby traps!

The moment the candles had gone dark, Pandora heard something heavy and metallic clicking in the far distance. At first, it was a familiar and non-threatening noise - not unheard of and usually not alarming. Her brain wrote it off as they pushed a bit further into the passageway. The initial rumbling was hard to hear over Corvus' half-baked bravado, but Pandora swallowed a chuckle at her attempt to bolster them. Then, she froze. The speed of the clinking had increased, and the tremors under-hoof had started. Corvus cut off, taking a healthy step backwards.

"What.. is that?"

The separation started then, the sections of stone pulling apart to expose a cool, inky abyss beneath their feet.

"Move!" Rattler was yelling, twisting in place and moving towards the doorway. "Go, go!"

The floor beneath her hooves lurched and Pan lunged for Corvus, who was currently the furthest into the room. She used her shoulder to shift both her weight and Corvus' towards the center of their section of platform. It was too dark to see anything, but she could feel the way the playform shifted depending on where they stood and felt secure enough in their placement to take a desperate look around. Rattler was nowhere to be seen, only seeing the flash of her pale tail disappearing into darkness as the floor continued to pull them further apart from the others. The glint of Gambit's armor gave away that he was still on land, but Pandora could not pinpoint his position.

The party had to act and they had to act _now_ if they wanted to get out of this unscathed.

A sudden blast of cold air from below douses your torches and lanterns. The grinding of stone on stone is heard as sections of the path underfoot pull away from each other. The platforms of solid ground drift apart, a chilling abyss stretching out below their separation.

Your party must make a Wisdom check to stay together and not fall into the void.
