[DD2] Grave Robbing

"Oh Crisp, look at this!" Sangria said as the two had entered an enclosed room, giving them a rare moment away from the insufferable heat of the furnace. Sangria trotted over to a brazier lit on the other side, giving off a strange chill that sent a shiver down Crispin's back.

"Wait, don't take that!" Crispin shouted but it was too late. Sangria grabbed the end of the torch with her teeth, pulling it free. The faint runes around the brazier lit up to life, glowing a ghastly, pale green color that flooded the stone ground around it. The fire inside the brazier snuffed out, much to Sangria's surprise. Her eyes went event wider as a humanoid shape, incorporeal and faint in the room, started to emerge from the runes' glow. It wailed an ear-shattering scream as soon as its mouth was visible.

"RUN!"

Crispin's clear command jostled Sangria into motion, and she dropped the torch before bolting out of the room with Crispin, their hurried hoof steps fading away as they sprinted far, far from the emerging creature.

You find a lit brazier, impossibly old and emanating a rare chill into the furnace. its flames seem to never burn away the coal. Do you take it, or leave it be?
