[DD1] Mantis the Knowing (The dungeon did give them power, so it concurs/ That it's as much a part of them as their blood, red.)
A lone heraldic stands before a lonesome tree.
On their blue-furred shoulder a giant moth does perch.
Looking at the tree, Mantis seems to Know and See,
Even if never had they seen such on a search.
Growing up in here, they never saw such a plant,
For all that their father is one Bairaz the Wild,
Nature followed their father, except this plant scant.
Though they Know this is a tree, they are still beguiled;
They feel rather compelled to sleep, the roots beside,
As they rest, they fall into a peaceful dreaming.
When they wake, Mantis finds that they are teary-eyed,
Having dreamt of that are not happening, seeming;
For they dreamt of such things the dungeon does not know,
At least not in this level where they become grown...
A forest, the sun, the stars, and the moonlight glow.
But they will never have this, the dungeon has Shown.
In visions, they Saw the answer of what occurs
If they end up exiting, they will end up dead.
The dungeon did give them power, so it concurs
That it's as much a part of them as their blood, red.
Mantis bows before an ancient yet living tree,
Whose roots are like stubborn claws that dig into stone.
Sad yet still happy, "Thank you for letting me see."
For they are glad still they saw where seed had from blown.

This might be my favorite in the saga, so far.
