Entering the second level of the dungeon was as obvious as that after day comes night. 

Prayer knew one day it will go there, when it feels like it has more experience. And after a few months of just looking for luck in the first level it finally decided that maybe a bit more luck waits for it further below. 

And so when that day came it took everything it deemed useful and went on its way. 

Myrrah came with it, obviously, too skittish to stay behind. Prayer could have locked it up, give it to one of its friends for safekeeping but… It couldn’t make itself do it. It was stupid, yes, it knew it. But it and Myrrah has became inseparable. 

Second level of dungeons is much warmer than the first one. When the first one is green and lavish, the second is barren and scorched. Prayer knows the stories. It knows that it needs to be careful of fire that shoots from every direction in this place. And yet. 

Prayer is as careful as it can until it spots something interesting. 

“Oh, shiny,” it says as it sees something in the distance. 

It takes a step. 

And fire shoots right in front of its face. 

The scream that fills the area isn’t Prayer’s, obviously it is not. 

After a few breaths Prayer understands what happened. It has stepped on a cobblestone that was a little looser than the rest and now from random places in the floor shoot plenty of interlocking but intermittent flames. Suddenly Prayer feels very annoyed. 

And then Myrrah floats further away from Prayer. 

“Myrrah, no-” is all that Prayer is able to say before a flame swallows its pet. 

Shocked Prayer stands in place until the flame recedes. And Myrrah is still where it was. Not scorched. Healthy. 

“Huh.” 

The little wisp goes further up and then backs up, urging Prayer to follow its path. Slowly the horse and the wisp travel through the trap ridden corridor until they reach the other end. Where the shiny thing that Prayer saw before turns out to be a switch that stops the flames. 

Oh, this is going to be a very annoying journey.
