Whistling wind was surrounding Wisp and her new found friends due to the tiny cracks in the stone walls as they crept on further down the eerie tunnels ahead. Bats could be felt above them and almost all of the coursers were having to duck to ensure they weren’t being hit by them. “Watch out! They’re getting closer now the ceiling is lower down.” She warned the rest of them.

As they continued, Wisp was doing her best not to slip on the occasional wet patch of moss that was on the rocks beneath her, sometimes having to lean against Derek for support. Being at the front of the group, she was always having new scents touch her nose first; of which, a lovely mixture of rotting fruits and decaying rodents just arose. 

“Are you sure we have to go this way?” The blue courser questioned the group behind her, coughing a little due to the sudden change in smells. 

Derek caught up to her. “Look to your right! I think it opens up over there. I think I can deal with the god-awful smell if we end up finding something interesting.” He responded, sliding past her and the other two coursers joined by Suzie, his little companion. 

Shuffling around the corner, Derek was met with a chamber ahead that widened up along with the ceiling. Although enough room for them all to move around and even a section to continue on - there wasn’t enough space to push past, it was blocked. A large odd shaped skeleton sat before them, causing them all to halt in their tracks so they could rethink their next steps.

It was truly a beautiful day to go and hunt through the deep dark caverns, listening to the sound of liquid dripping somewhere that no one wanted to see. Maybe it wasn’t even water, but something more exciting, like liquid candy or chocolate or ocean water! Those would all be very silly, but the dungeon was known for its sense of humor. Everyone said so. At least, Jackalope assumed that’s what people said. She’d never heard anyone mention it, but she didn’t hear every conversation or every thought. So someone probably had, somewhere.

With a grin, she traipsed after Wisp and Derek, feet dancing on the cold stone ground. “You two are adorable!” she squealed, softer than the word would make one think. “I don’t think I have any friends who would let me lean on them like that. Well, maybe. But not anyone here, unless I asked.” She briefly looked at Nemeny, who smiled back, crookedly.

“Not a chance.” The sentence was almost purred. At least, it felt like it was supposed to be purred, like she expected that a very specific type of person would be purring here. Maybe a cat, maybe a guinea pig. Whatever she was trying to mimic, it wasn’t done well, but it never was with her.

Jackalope’s smile widened, brightened, almost threatening to crack her open. Nemeny was so silly! “I bet we could do it. I bet Wisp would help you if you asked.”

Nemeny stood tall, proud, and looked entirely too much like a toddler who was pretending to be their grandparent. “Don’t ask.” Swiper, her fox, cackled to himself at her feet like some type of furry gremlin. With a shrug, the golden girl turned away from the group and back to the skeleton that was in their way. “There’s something in it, and something that’s sparkling… nothing you’d want, I’m sure,” she intoned quickly, trying to claim that it was just something boring so she could take it for herself. There were too many of them to be able to sneak it away if she didn’t get it first.

“Okay!” Jackalope agreed, turning back to the puck and his companion. “So, how did you two meet?”
