It wasn't long before Phoebe found Minerva again, though it was a little late to put her advice about the imps to use now that they'd buggered off. Minerva was trying not to be bitter about the whole thing, because it didn't feel fair when Phoebe had come all the way back to make sure she was okay. Sure, the golden courser had put a lot of distance between them before that happened but. It was an effort, the other was trying and Minerva could say nothing negative to that.

"The bridge," Phoebe was saying. "You walk where I walk, step exactly where I step - or as close as you can. Don't run, and please don't panic."

Minerva had heard about the bridge: heavily used and therefore heavily worn. "Is it safe?"

"If you're not afraid, or an idiot." Was the answer her companion gave before the passageway opened up into a giant river of lava. "We're here."

A spike of anxiety coursed through her. "If I am afraid? What then?"

Phoebe swung her head back to Minerva and for the first time really seemed to look at her. "Trust me."

The trek across the bridge was probably the single most terrifying experience of Nerva's life, but she did as she was told. She shadowed Phoebe's every move, learning to still when the bridge began to sway and to slow down to keep from creating momentum. There were a few hairy moments where she thought she might spook off the bridge and right into the lava, but somehow, Minerva made it across.

"Thank you," She breathed, gratitude directed at the land but also at Phoebe - who had gotten her across safely. "Thank you."

Phoebe's eyes were shining with a small measure of pride before she turned towards the exit. "Come."
