[DD1] Gnawwing, Buzzing

There was a faint buzzing at the 'edges' of It's hearing.

The Shield and The Litany walked ahead of it, and spoke amongst themselves - with no sign of noticing the sound that was currently arising The Creatures... interest? Ire?
The Litany was in front, with The Shield just behind it, and every so often The Shield's speech patterns proved exasperated, filled with a faint underbuzzing aggitation. Creature did not care to pay mind to the words.

"When we leave, we- we should probably leave him- It in the dungeon, Litany. Or at least we can't take it home. Your father- well. It doesn't look... natural. He won't want it near his estates."

"I'm the young Lord, the next Lord - my opinion should count." The Litany said, but even he sounded uncertain of this, unconvinced it would prove useful.

The buzzing was a touch closer now, so the Creature turned one way, listening, slipping into a slow, quiet prowling crouch. It would stop whatever the source of the sound was - and perhaps find prey on the other end of it. It did not know why the others did not hear it too.

"I don't think that will work, not until your father is resting in his tomb, Lit." The Shield turned his head, catching sight of It, brows furrowed. He stopped moving. "...What's It doing over there?"

The Litany stopped too, turning to regard the Creature's prowl, it's slow shuffle around the floor, amidst the stonework, and the hardy reedy little dungeon plants. It's movement resembled almost a hunting hound more then a courser.

"...I- I don't know. Looking for something?" The later question was chirped in the Creature's direction, and while one ear twitched in that direction, as if aware it was for It, It didn't slow it's scanning. The buzzing was louder, burrowing into it's ears, crawling around it's skull. If it did not personally remove the source, It felt as if the sound would linger forever.

It's scanning eyes spotted an odd formation, set amongst the stone, the cracked and fallen bricks. It looked - no, it was, if you knew what you were looking at, petrified - like a stone courser's rib cage. The closer It shifted to the rib cage, the louder the buzzing grew. Wispy little plants peeked out from the underside of the petrified bones, hardy little things with gnarled roots that dug deep into the dungeon floor.

"Maybe it's caught the scent of prey."

It flung itself towards the rib cage all at once, ramming it's head straight into the hollow of it - grey eyes alight.

There - a nesting of cave bugs, in the hollow, amongst a pool of dripped moisture, and a patch of plant life - torn and ragged due to the insects' feasting of it. When Creature's head came crashing in with snapping jaws, the insects immediately flooded out of the ribs, buzzing more 'distressed' now, in a thick cloud. Creature's head jerked out of the hollow, and went for the insects immediately.

"Shit- Litany, tell It to come away from there."

It did not stop, no matter how many pleads or attempts to call it over were made - it could not stop, until it had stopped every buzzing thing. All of them ended up between it's teeth, until they were all gone. The Sound was no more.

It straightened up, and turned back towards The Litany and The Shield - barreling straight through the pair of them, to continue the path forward. Then it stopped, and turned it's head, staring at them both as if wondering why they'd stopped moving at all.

"With a deafening buzz, a cloud of cave bugs flies in your face! AHHH! How did you disturb the swarm? What do you do now?"

Feast & Eliminate.
