[DD1] just sitting there with a glass of milk (au)
"Why's it so hard to make friends?" Brynn sighs heavily, looking to her companion as they embark on another adventure within the dungeon. "Like, I 'unno, the dungeons are just so big! How do we even meet people?" Fiddling with the strap of her pack as they walk, moving in comfortable step with each other. Sure, she talks a lot, but it fills the space. Rocky gives only a bemused smile-- not much for words, that one. "Would it be weird to go into a tavern and just... look for one? I don't drink. Feel like I'd be out of place just sitting there with a glass of milk." She giggles to herself, the mental image a little much for the moment.
Broad shouldered and strong, she's always been a workhorse. Carrying heavy shit, moving heavy things, and positioning herself at the front of a charge. Capable. For all her shortcomings, Brynn is capable. Chatty, sometimes lacking in common sense, but she'll make up for it with her heart. "I'm good company, right?" Rolling the loose strap of her bag, unrolling it, repeating. Over and over repeating the action, as they make their way into the dungeon. Rocky gives a nod, a reassuring pat on her elbow. "Thanks buddy."
She'd keep daydreaming about a party of her own, as they made their way deeper into the dungeon. "Maybe even just like, one other person. That would be cool. Someone good with a bow! Man, a bow and my spear, that would be really rad. Nothing would be able to get close to us." The spear was a newer fascination for the girl, and even still, she wore her shield like a backpack over her shoulder bag. It wasn't that heavy, but having something watching her back felt safer. Man, wouldn't that be the life? Someone to watch her back, and she could watch theirs. One of the most important, if delicate, balances in the dungeon.
