“C’mon, pardner,” Remington says impatiently as he waits for his pet goose to finish wading around in a little pool of water, just off of the well-trodden path. The goose begrudgingly gets out and waddles behind Remington, who quickly strides down the path. He can tell there is something ahead, and he isn’t sure exactly what it is, but he wants to investigate. The dungeon narrowed into a tunnel, and got darker and darker as Remington walked on. Becoming impatient and wanting to see what was ahead, he burst into a jog, despite the darkness obscuring almost everything. Before he had gone more than 10 paces, Pardner gave a loud screeching honk, which stopped Remington in his tracks… mere seconds away from falling into a deep crack in the cave floor. Momentarily discouraged, he looks for a bridge, which are uncommon in this section of the dungeon. However, he spots one, and, rejuvenated, starts towards it. From the bank of the crevice, the goose honks nervously. Remington ignores him, jumps onto the bridge. It is only when he is halfway across that he realizes the bridge is slowly starting to shift under him. Needing to get across with even more urgency now, he picks up a jog. Suddenly, the bridge swings wildly to the right, and it takes everything in him to not go flying into the cavern below. As he steadies himself, he takes a closer look at what’s under his feet. It almost looks like plates of armor… with legs? Ohhh no. He starts sprinting now, trying to make it across before the thousand-legged beast throws him into the abyss below. Mere feet away from the safety of the rocky leg, the millipede bucks, and Remington has but a split second to think before he is thrown into the air. At the last moment, he launches himself towards the ledge, hoping and praying that he’ll make it… and he does. Barely. His stomach collides with the edge, knockin the breath out of him as he scrambles to find a hand hold to pull himself up with. His fingers catch in a small bump in the floor, and he uses it to pull himself fully to the ledge. As the adrenaline wears off, he hears his goose honking wildly from the other side of the crevice. Turning, he sees the millipede fleeing out of the tunnel they just came down, the goose pinned against a wall by the bug’s undulating body. As the last of the legs disappear down the tunnel, the goose launches himself into the air and flys over to join Remington on the far side of the crevice. 

“Well pardner. That sure was exciting. Ready to see what else is ahead?”
