[DD1] Mellody of the Shrooms

Walking was still hard, even after so much time, and forcing his stiff knees to lift higher was exhausting. The lumps of goo and stiff hair covering his body didn't make the situation any better - on the contrary, it made his whole body itch. The only mild relief was the walls, which he occasionally brushed against, crumbling as much of the dried thing as he could. The only pleasant thing about moving from place to place was that now he had company. The quiet chirping of fairies, a language he still didn't fully understand, was pleasant to the ears. He could draw out the tones of the conversations they had with each other, and some were definitely gossiping about how much he could use a bath. Let's be honest, he offered them to stay in his mane as an apology for stepping on their current home... but any other plant would be better than what he had to offer. After a while, it was even surprising that these little creatures agreed to his offer. Once they found a lake, he had to do something about it. If not for them, then at least for the fact of getting rid of those nasty lumps.

They hadn't gone very far after their last rest before they reached the next room. Another plus for the fairies - he could synchronize his sleep with them, so at least his body didn't give up here and now. He still didn't quite know what it meant that now was the time for a break. So he was guided by his little companions... companions who had now decided to explore a new place.

The room itself was quite a large open space, there were a few boulders and a lot of dust, but apart from that - nothing special. Until you looked up, at the source of light that made everything so easy to see. From the ceiling, ribbons of greenish-blue plants cascaded down, on the ends of which grew small, bell-like, glowing mushrooms. Some of them, when touched by one of the fairies, made a delicate tinkling sound, which, accompanied by the aforementioned creature's giggles, created an almost soothing sound. He layed down by one of the walls, listening to their fun in silence until one of the fairies grabbed a strand of his bang and pulled. A hurried chirping filled his ears, and as soon as he lifted his eyelids to look at it, it flew off to the largest mushroom of them all. It was surprisingly low, and a small pink light flew quickly around it until he touched the yellow fungus with his nose. A low sound filled the air, and the fairy herself flew to the next with aproving chirp, this time slightly smaller than the last, mushroom. In this way, he touched each one with his nose, until they reached the smallest of them all. The sound from it was the highest but also the quietest... only for the room to shake and one of the stones leaning against the wall simply moved... revealing a corridor to nowhere. He blinked in surprise, well, dungeons could be strange, maybe it was a branch leading to another room, but with the whole system moving there was nothing there now? Who knew. He just sighed, looking with a raised eyebrow at the pink sparkle, who shrugged, sitting on the top of his head where he couldn't give her an unhappy look... then he headed to the corridor that was on the same wall as the entrance he came from. There was nothing left for them to do but continue... it was a pity he didn't stay a bit longer - and he would have heard the sounds coming from the newly discovered alley.
