There are many things in this world. From the stars that fall and burn the earth to strange skeletons that look like nothing alive you’ve ever met. And Prayer had seen many things, many of them strange or unusual. But it knows it's still young. So when it meets a sentient toad it isn’t as surprised as it could be. 

It sits in a big room, one so overgrown it’s hard to see the edges. Maybe it’s a cavern that became a part of the dungeon? Prayer is almost sure it can hear a stream flowing somewhere between the grass. 

The rock that it sits on is a big one, covered in moss and lichen. And the toad itself looks like something between a creature and a pile of moss. It’s no wonder Prayer thought it a part of the environment from a distance. It has to be more careful in the future. Because even if the toad isn’t a danger - and it doesn’t seem like it - something similar could easily kill any courser not careful enough. 

“Who Are You?” speaks the toad in a huge voice, fitting for the large body. 

Prayer comes a little closer, feeling brave and fakely confident. “An adventurer, one of many you’ve met I assume.” 

The toad takes a huff from the pipe it’s holding. The wood of the pipe seems ready to fall apart, only keeping together thanks to all the lichen overgrowing it and gluing it together. 

“And Why Do You Bother Me?” asks the toad. 

It was a moment of decision. Does Prayer tell the truth? That it wasn’t a plan? Or maybe it lies? 

Oh, of course it lies. Where’s the fun in telling the truth? 

“I have heard from many travelers that you hold special items in your possession. I was wondering if you are willing to share.” 

“Hmm.” The toad takes another huff and puffs the smoke directly into Prayer, making it wince. “I Like Your Directness. You Can Have This.” 

And with those words a small golden necklace is thrown into Prayer’s direction. It catches the gift mid air and smiles. “Thank you very much. I will tell stories of your generosity.” 

“Please, Don’t.” 

“Then I will not.” 

“Good. Leave Now.” 

“Of course.” 

And with that Prayer goes away. Lying is always such a fun activity!
