[DD1] Demanding pots
When things get dark Prayer doesn’t stop. It pushes further and further, looking for something new in life. It might be young and it might still be a little stupid, but at least it knows it. What it lacks in experience it fills with faked confidence. It will not repeat the mistakes of its parents.
But first it needs experience. Any experience. And maybe food? And something shiny. It would really like to have something shiny. It liked the blight of riches.
So it traveled through the dungeons, obviously. Where else to look for riches? Not in some random holes in the ground, that’s for sure. And while dungeons were dangerous they were also exciting! Prayer hoped to one day form a whole party and explore the deeper levels, with itself as the leader, obviously. But for now it was alone.
It enters one of the chambers. Darkness spews from inside, almost like it wants to eat. Darkness was always hungry, Prayer knew it. When it was small its parents would pray to keep all the dark and what lives inside at bay. Prayer didn’t care about it. It became the prayer because it was responsible for fighting its own darkness.
Annoyed at the lack of gold, Prayer turns around just to hear: “Hey.”
It swings its head around, brows knitted. “Hello?”
“Look here, idiot,” says a pot.
“I’m not an idiot.”
“Sure. Do you have something to feed us? The wizard must have sent you here to feed us, right?”
“He must have!” chimes in another pot. “We are so hungry, there must be something to eat.”
“Food, food, food!” commands another pot.
Some more pots start speaking at once and Prayer just looks. It doesn't care. No riches, no feeding. It just walks out, shuts the door behind itself. From inside it hears angry and unhappy voices. It annoys it further. There is no chance it will go back to visit this chamber again.
