Passing friends.
He'd seen her a few times, just passing through the entrance to the dungeons. Sometimes they were heading in at the same time. Sometimes she was just leaving as he was starting his day, or vice versa. She looked kind, capable, but he never said more than a passing hello. He wasn't shy, persay, he just didn't know what to say.
Thankfully, she made first contact. He was in the middle of a massive cavern when she came barreling in, chest heaving and sweat making her mane stick to her forehead. She looked panicked. "Do NOT take the third door on the left," she asserted.
"What?" He was distracted by the bit of goo sliding down her face.
"About 500 feet down the next path, there's a room of doors. Don't take the third on the left. I have never seen so many slimes in my life."
He blinked. "Noted. Are you okay?"
She swallowed hard, then after a moment of thought she nodded. "Yeah, I think so."
"Okay."
From then on they weren't friends, but they did pass each other tips and tricks every time they saw each other.
