[MEDIUM] Who to choose...
You encounter a fork in the dungeon marked by two doorways. Above one, a face in the rock smiles. Above the other, a face frowns. Both begin to speak, and in their craggy voices try to convince you to go through the door beneath them.
Auryn carefully walked the path. Lucky brushed softly against her and started speaking. “What do you think we’ll find?” He inquired. Auryn shook her head softly. “There is no telling what we’ll find. We could find treasure, or we could find a curse.” She whispered. Ace, an Osprey, whistled from Auryn’s back. A beautiful chocolate colored hound, named Bailey, ran slightly ahead of the group. Cocoa and Dobby stayed close to Logue and Victor.
“How long have you been wandering the dungeons?” Auryn asked. Victor snorted. Lucky glared at Victor and cleared his throat. “Since long before I met Victor.” Lucky said with a hint of aggression. “That’s not what you told me when we were-” Victor started. “It doesn’t matter what I told you. Auryn is a princess and deserves the truth. You on the other hand are a thief and a liar and don’t deserve shit!” Lucky argued. Victor paused for a moment, gathering his rebuttal. “You only called me a ‘Lovely being’ when we were together. Never once did you call me a liar or a thief. In fact, you asked me to steal for you!” Victor growled. Auryn decided to let them just get it out this time. Besides it was one of the few, rather safe entertainments down in the dungeons. Victor and Lucky kept bickering until Auryn’s ears felt hot and painful. Auryn would have glanced at Logue, but she wouldn’t have been able to see him anyway.
Auryn stopped on the path. “Enough!” She yelled. Both Victor and Lucky paused their bickering to look at the beautiful, kind, and very angry Heraldic. Lucky bowed his head. Victor blushed in humiliation. Logue joined Auryn. “We are in the dungeons. This is not the time to bicker and fight. Save it until we reach the surface.” Logue spoke intelligently. Auryn nodded. “Yes, we must stick together and act as one. We can’t do that with you two fighting your heads off.” Auryn warned. Victor retreated to the back, walking with Logue. Lucky trotted up to Auryn and walked by her side. His green fur brushing against Auryn’s golden fur.
As they continued, two doorways split the path. The only way was to go through one of the doors. Even though Auryn couldn’t see, she could still smell. She snorted as a familiar smell, one of a dead body entered her nostrils. The whole group came to a stop, and carefully began discussing which door to go through.
“One of them smells like dead bodies.” Auryn pointed out. Lucky sighed. “We have no idea which one though.” “Why don’t we split up?” Victor suggested. “No!” Lucky, Auryn, and Logue all yelled. “God, sorry. It was just an idea.” Victor snorted. The group heard a mechanical sound, and all stopped to look.
Above the doors are two faces. One is frowning, and the other begins to speak. “Adventurers, come to me. Inside you’ll find treasures upon treasures.” The right door spoke. “Yeah don’t forget about me! I have winding tunnels and so many good treasures!” The left door spoke. “No you don’t.” The right door argued. “Yes I do! Did you not see that party come out with a shit ton of gold? They even found a white dragon.” The left door boosted. “Foolish lies!” The right door pressed. The doors kept bickering. Lucky and Victor looked at eachother. “Is that what we sound like?” Lucky asked. “Yes.” Logue replied with a sigh.
“Both of you!” Auryn shouted. The faces stopped. They took a good look at her. “A blind Heraldic?” The left door asked. “Wait.” The right door said. “Who was your father?” The right door asked. Auryn froze. “My father?” She asked. The right door nodded. “Yes, he was, what was his name? Gunner? No, Goliath!” The door exclaimed. “Yes.” Auryn nodded. “He came once. He went through me.” The right door nodded. “No, Goliath, the king? He came through me.” The left door argued. Once again the doors began arguing over who Goliath went through. Auryn let out a shaky sigh, as the group ignored the doors and decided which one to go through. Bailey barked and whimpered as they discussed their options.
