Phoebe traversed down a strange and quite well-carved path. It sloped downward on a sharp angle, of which she had observed to be similar to a large pyramid-like structure. Her hoofsteps echoed throughout the cavernous space, which baffled her to begin with due to the geometrically impressive construction and the fact that it was quite impossible to have been built by a Courser’s intent. Although most architecture within the dungeon escaped all logic and reason. Looking around the surrounding stone was also shaped in strange ways. Warped into imitations of things she could not begin to interpret by herself.

Phoebe paused to look around more when she reached the bottom. Hesitantly stepping forward before being interrupted by a booming sound which shook the ground.

“LITTLE COURSER, WHERE IS YOUR KNIGHT?”

Phoebe let out a startle whinny, head rearing up in shock as she saw the source of the scare. A large piece of rock peered down at the Courser kindly, its mouth, she assumed, split in a genial smile. 

“My what?” 

Phoebe replied automatically, brain still running wild

“YOUR KNIGHT! BOUND BY DUTY AND BY SWORD TO PROTECT THOSE WHO NEED PROTECTING.”

Phoebe blinked blankly at the stoney face. Well, that was a strange question indeed. She didn’t really need a knight at all, she was an accomplished pathfinder herself with plenty of experience.

“Don’t need one I suppose. Not a royal and not someone who really needs all that much protection up here.” She gestured loosely to the empty room “Not much danger on the upper levels unless you have a fear of nature.”

The stony face looked puzzled at her reply letting out a low rumble. 

“AH WELL, MAYBE I’LL SEE A KNIGHT SOON THEN. BE ON YOUR WAY, COURSER, MAYHAPS TELL A RIDER TO VISIT ME WHEN ONE HAS THE TIME.”

Phoebe raised an eyebrow at the statement before nodding in agreement. She doubted she’d ever find whatever “rider” thing he spoke of but thought it better to agree and move on then anger the strange rock. Carefully she went on her way, deeper into the dungeon and hopefully far far away from the strange rocky face.
