Taking his first steps into the mouth of the cavern, Will took a quick glance behind him to appreciate the daylight before it closed in behind him. This was his first delve so he was a bit green on what to expect. His spirits were high and he carried on at a good pace, noticing the terrain getting increasingly more unkempt as his journey continued.

Moss gnarled the stone on the walls and vines broke through in all directions along the interior of the cave walls. What started as a somewhat put together path was now in shambles. Will placed his hooves carefully as he traversed further into the depths of the cavern. Even with the increased difficulty, Will was enjoying his time in the ecosystem underground fascinated him. A large beetle made its way onto the path with a skitter and stopped him in his tracks. Slowly, he bent down and inched forward, hoping to get a better look of the iridescent insect.

Suddenly, the beetle leapt onto Will's nose, spooking him. His body jerked backward and his legs locked up. Quickly he got over his nerves but realized his legs hadn't locked up, more like one of his hooves found itself lodged in between two rocks. Panic quickly hit him again and the stuck leg jerked involuntarily. Faint pain shot up the leg which helped him still himself.

His mind reeled at the possibility of his first venture into the dungeons could end up with him stuck indefinitely. No, that wouldn't work... he thought to himself ways to free his leg to no avail. But maybe? Will's eyes got a twinkle in them before he cocked his free foot back above one of the rocks and gave it a swift kick. Then again, and more, till he could feel the stone give away and his hoof yank free.

Will let out a shrill whinny of victory and gave a celebratory buck as well. With his newfound appreciation for the unknown and danger of the dungeons, Will hightailed it in the direction of home to prepare for his next endeavor.
