A low grumble sounded from the cave. It wasn’t a creature, or a cave-in, it was something much more dangerous to an adventurer. Hunger. Trout had what he thought was a healthy supply of fish but it quickly diminished just as fast as he caught it. Knowing he couldn’t survive on just the cave moss it was time to go hunting for some bait. Trout knew the cave wasn’t low any bugs so finding some bait wouldn’t be hard, but to him not just any bait would do. No he needed to find the motherload, some nice juicy grubs. Finding grubs would mean finding a hive and hopefully a docile one. Searching through cracks and under the rocks trying to find any bugs.

“Come on buggies…” He muttered as he continued his search. Just before he was about to cut his losses he flipped over one more rock. With a laugh he trotted happily in place upon uncovering a large hive full of fresh larva. This was the jackpot, he could have enough fish to last him a whole year's worth. Trout began to quickly stuff his satchel with the grubs, it wasn’t until too long he began to hear a faint buzzing in the distance. He stopped for a second to listen and noticed the buzzing was growing louder, and louder. Turning around he saw a large swarm of beetles zooming straight towards him. The stallion scrambled to get the rest in his bag before he took off running from the swarm.

The beetles persisted and continued to chase him through the corridors. Trouts' screams echoed through the caves. There was no doubt any other travelers here heard his cries for help. In the pursuit Trout’s satchel unclipped falling to the ground, though the stallion kept running the beetles had stopped chasing him once they secured their young. He made it back to his campsite huffing. Trout laid down by the unlit campfire laying his head against the moss. Bitten, Lootless, and most of all still hungry. His stomach let out one last roar of hunger before he dozed off to sleep.
