For the first time in her life First Dawn was in the dungeon alone. All her previous adventures had been with Fetch. The prolific adventurer had guided her into the Earthen Furance, even if their explorations had been cut someone short by an injured Courser. Still, First Dawn had learned several things, and now she was here! Alone! In the Overgrown Caverns. All on her lonesome. Exactly how alone she was was truly setting in.

The heraldic Courser brushed past a lush fern. It tickled her, which made her feel like bolting. First Dawn kept her wits about her. It was just a plant. She'd be okay. As she calmed herself from her leafy brush, she noticed a glistening pool on the floor. It was shiny and green and ... jelly-like? Suddenly it pulled itself up into a shimmering pile. It opened a single central eye, blinking slowly.

First Dawn grimaced. The slime didn't seem threatening, but it also wasn't exactly appealing. She was ready to be away from it. "Uh, nice to meet you. Have a good day down here Mr. Slime. This seems like a good place for you. Hot. Damp. Full of other green stuff. You have fun, okay?" As she spoke, she slowly backed away from the creature. It didn't pursue her, for which she was eternally grateful. First Dawn felt a little thrill as she put more distance between herself and the slime. Her first solo challenge, bested! With renewed confidence, she ducked into a passage leading far, far away from the slime
