The first rumors he'd heard of the bridge, Andrej was fairly certain they had to be exaggeration. Really, he takes most things adventurers say with a grain of salt. They're all here for their own reasons, and there's no big advantage to helping anyone outside of your party. Why not make the bridge sound worse than it was, for the sake of bragging rights over drinks in the tavern? Why not try to scare off anyone else, especially if whatever lay on the other side of that bridge was some damn good treasure? What incentive was there, to tell the truth about... okay, about much of anything, down here?

Now that Andrej sees it with his own eyes, the realization really does sink in. The bridge that lay before him is really that treacherous, really that dangerous. Son of a bitch. Andrej takes a long moment to rest, hip against the wall, assessing his options. Taking a long drink from his canteen, and watching. Fraying ropes, missing planks, an overall horrifying and dangerous look to the whole thing. Gritting his teeth as he weighed his options, Andrej knows there has to be something good on the other side of this bitch. Has to be.

Gaze sweeping the length of the bridge, he formulates a plan. As long as he kept his center of gravity low, he should be fine. Keep low, keep his feet spread out, and be careful. Drawing near to it, Andrej takes his first step. It's tentative, grip on the frayed ropes tight. Clutching them in his hands to steady himself, but not wanting to put too much strain on them. There was a fine line between using them to the fullest extent and challenging their fragility. Andrej dances on that line, as carefully as he dances upon the bridge. Inching along, knowing he's on a timer.

Heart pounding. Hands shaking. Andrej looks ridiculous, sweat dripping down his face, scowling as he makes his way carefully across the bridge. Following the path he's mapped, and clinging to the bridge. By the time Andrej is back on solid ground, he'd be happy to never see another water (lava?) crossing like this again. Panting heavily, shaky, but alive. He's alive, damn it. Maybe Andrej would be better off heeding the warnings of more experienced dungeoneers, from here on out.
