[DD1] Fork in the road already traveled.

Don't ask her what drove her here, she couldn't tell you. Probably the addiction to adrenaline, need for adventure, both traits she had been burdened with at birth and refused to grow out of. It all made ignoring the unyielding pull deeper and deeper impossible. She didn't even know what she was looking for, though surely she would recognize it on first sight of it... whatever IT was. She had been searching all day and would have continued if it were not for one particular inconvenience....

-GUUUuurgggggle.... Rrrrraaaahrrrgggeee-

The sound of her stomach echoed in the surrounding tunnels. Oh, right... lunch, she had forgotten to pack something to eat. It looked like she might just have to go home empty-handed today, a thought that made the girl groan louder than her stomach had moments before. She hated quitting early, but nutrition was important kinda... she guessed. She glanced around idly before her ears flicked forward. Wait. She didn't remember coming from a fork in the tunnel... which side had she come from? Turning to face the direction she had come from, two paths now mocked her... eenie meenie minie moe... which way should the girlie go? She had been so busy straining to see what was in the chamber she now stood in... she hadn't paid any attention to what had been beside her as she entered it. Now it appeared she may be lost.

How do you get lost in a ROOM? She thought, grumbling to herself. "Oh come on..." Her stomach growled again, as if scolding her for her lack of attention to detail. Rolling her eyes, she moved to stand between the two entrances, looking back and forth between the two while trying to decide what to do next.  Her ears strained to hear any sounds that could be clues, all the while she scented the air as well. Surely there was something about these tunnels that spoke to where they led? She poked her head inside the tunnel on the left, closing her eyes to focus. The soft sound of water dripping somewhere, accompanied by a sort of musky scent. Perhaps that one went down further, into the depths. She'd love to go that way, but a pang in her stomach reminded her of the task at hand.

The right tunnel then, perhaps? Her head poked inside the entrance, eyes closed once more. The air here smelled fresher, and she thought she could hear the faint sounds of birds as a soft breeze filtered through. Oh yes, it was this way for sure. She moved into the tunnel and followed its winding path up out of the depths, soon blinking in the bright sun. Her effort was rewarded with a patch of fresh grass growing in the courtyard that looked to have once been a grand room. She ripped a large grouping from the earth and chewed it thoughtfully as she looked back at the still beckoning hollow she had just emerged from. Perhaps when she had eaten her full, she could go back in for round two? She'd pay more attention this time for sure...
