Johnny glanced over the equipment once more, before collecting all of his belongings. The path downward, leading to a vast chamber seemed safe. The only skeletons in sight were all piled up in the corner of the chamber. Apparently having some sort of argument, fighting. Using their own bones as weapons. Quite a sight. But they were definitely distracted enough to sneak past them. In the distance the floor was cracked, creating a little bridge over the river of lava. It seemed sturdy enough.

Considering all of this, Johnny felt brave enough to trot down the path. Slowing down to make sure that the skeletons didn’t notice him, he continued towards the bridge. Approaching the arch he slowed down and stuck his head over the edge for a moment. Staring into the lava, it was scary and intimidating, but also fascinating. The heat was overwhelming. Courser felt his head getting heavy. Johnny stumbled, losing balance for a moment. 

He took a step back, but the unlucky misstep was enough for one of his bags to fall off his back. It was a backpack with rations. Apples, pears and other greens rolled out of the compartments. A Tiny Snail fell out. Bob. He never got out of his bag, he was still eating when Johnny entered the bridge. 

But now he was hidden in his little shell, rolling down towards the river of death. 

Johnny’s heart stopped. He lashed forward, reaching his long neck, catching the snail with his teeth at the last moment. Bob peeked out of his shell but hastily got back, realizing he was hanging above lava. 

Johnny put him down in a safe space of the bridge. He felt awful. Bob could’ve died because of him. The Tiny Snail got out of his shell and slowly crawled towards the edge. Stopped right next to one of the half eaten apples and pushed it down to the lava river. Looks like he didn’t feel like eating after this.
