[DD1] Aeneid's First Encounter
Aenaid paused, unsure of what to do with herself here. The route she'd intended to go down was blocked by what appeared to be a massive boulder, fit nearly perfectly into the path. She could just about make out a glimpse of what lay beyond, bits of verdant green that stuck out just through this moss-covered tunnel. She knew well enough that she wasn't nearly strong enough to move it on her own, so perhaps turning back would be the more viable option-
And then it moved.
So caught up in her own thoughts was she that she hadn't registered the beginning of something beginning to poke out of its side. It catches her off guard, the courser reeling up on her hind legs in shock. It only takes a moment for her to process what she's actually looking at, and when she does surprise is quick to be replaced with... annoyance. Sure, it'd only been her first run, but she'd always imagined herself to be much more stalwart than this. Talk about self-romanticization.
With an irritated huff, Aenaid stomped her hooves on the ground, letting out an expectant snort. Go on, she thinks to herself, hoping that by some grace it would understand her intentions and leave. The snail appears to only appraise her, not doing much else- would she really need to turn back and find a different route? With her chagrin displayed on her face, she drags a hoof on the ground, kicking up dirt and then looking right back at it. This somehow seems to convey intention to the beast (or perhaps it was just now humoring her in response to her impatience), the massive creature slowly starting to move itself out of the way.
...Verryyyyyy slowlllyyyy. It's going to keep her waiting a while, huh?
