Unfortunately for Leiken and Que, the trouble with bugs was not over. 

Though the strange duo had left the millipede far behind, neither had any clue about what they were about to run into.
They had been walking for a good half hour now, the millipede the furthest thing from Leiken's mind as he led Que along the way. He had gotten quite distracted by the sweet grasses growing up along both sides of the narrow path. While he wasn't quite hungry, the idea of eating while he could seemed like a good one. It would at least mean he wouldn't get hungry as quickly later down the line. And the grass was good, despite the sunless state it lived in it was tender and sweet. He had even started stuffing some of it into his bags, pushing aside his limited gear in order to collect as much as he could. Hopefully it wouldn't go bad in the time it would take him to get to somewhere he could camp, but he doubted it would. Perhaps it would even dry some and become even more pleasant.

Pulling up another mouthful, he paused, a buzzing noise faintly filling his ears.

Lifting his head, his ears twitched, trying to catch the direction the sound was coming from. His eyes widened as he stared at the swarm, showing an emotion for the first time since he had entered the dungeon. Que let out a yelp and started hightailing it away, snapping at flying insects as she ran.

Leiken took off after her, ears pinning as the biting cave bugs descended. Perhaps pulling up grass had been an awful idea. Was it the smell that had summoned them? He wasn't going to stick around to try and figure it out, speeding after Que and into the pool of water which she had fled into. He quickly shed his packs and gear as he splashed deeper, hiding in the water as the bugs buzzed angrily over the surface of the water. He only lifted his head out to breathe, suffering a few bites before he could duck down again. 

Luckily, it only took a few minutes for the bugs to lose interest, and soon both hound and horse dragged themselves out of the pond looking miserable. Leiken stared over at his bags, horrified to see the grassed gone from where he had stuffed them, holes even eaten throughout the bag. His ears pinned. That probably meant he should head back to the surface soon. With a scowl, he headed towards the path he had left earlier. Might as well start his way up now, then.
