The Company kept detailed maps, rife with landmarks and careful notes for each level of the dungeon. Lucia had been taught from a young age how to read them, but there's always room for error. That, and the dungeon seemed to have a mind of its own. It was particularly interesting on the first floor, the plants and wildlife who lived within it weren't subject to any laws of nature she was particularly familiar with. Down on the Furnace level, though, things were usually a little more straight forward. Usually. Still, as she came upon a bridge that wasn't marked anywhere on her maps, and wasn't anything she'd seen before, Lucia's brow furrowed.

"This doesn't look familiar, does it?" A tentative glance to Capo, who clicked his mandible in agreement. "Hmm. Help me mark it, we'll let them know when we go back topside." She motioned to her companion, stepping back to solid ground before unrolling the Furnace map from her pack. Lucia tapped out the route they'd taken before going still. She'd taken a wrong turn a ways back, venturing into uncharted territory. "Okay well... I guess that makes more sense." Trying to keep her tone optimistic, it's a little more difficult now that she knows she's lost.

A little more rummaging, and she comes up with her compass. The needle spun wildly, unhinged where it rest in the middle of the dial. "Must have something to do with the metals down here... shit." Ears pitching back in frustration, a deep sigh springing in her chest. Capo is careful as he scuttles across the map, at least able to find the spot where they'd gone off course. "Yeah I agree, I just... man how am I going to explain that later." The two of them pondered, Lucia taking a pen and marking in the margin about where the bridge lay. As far as the path to it? That was a different story.

"I think... I think if this is to scale, it might meet up around here." She tapped carefully on a spot in the same direction they'd traveled. "That tunnel should be east, and there's a spot that's only tentatively mapped that maybe lines up. Hopefully." Lucia's smile was grim, somewhere between confidence and resolve. If worse came to worse, they could just turn back, right? Retrace their steps? She'd push down the anxiety prickling in her stomach, the chill at the back of her neck. There's no admitting they're lost, just turned around. For now.
