Lujayn's ears flicked uncertainly as she stared at the bridge. It wasn't the first time she'd come across one of the giant, scaled creatures; millepedes, for some reason, seemed to enjoy dangling above large crevices. She wondered if it was one of those dungeon things. It had happened too many times for it to be pure coincidence.
Confidence was key. Lujayn hopped up gently onto the back of the millepede and picked up a trot; the crevice wasn't overly wide, but it was deep, and she wasn't eager to fall to its depths.
The millepede, as always, began to writhe as she made her way across its back. She kept her eyes on a point she'd picked on the other side, knowing that if she tried to move against the millepede, she'd only succeed in distracting herself and falling off.
She could feel the back end of the millepede lifting, and knowing what was coming, she leapt up to avoid the wave motion. There was something to be said for experience- she timed it perfectly, landing in the centre of the millepede's back as it stabilised again.
She reached the end of the creature and nodded her thanks. The millepede didn't respond. Typical.
