Down on the dusty floor, which was also covered in cobwebs and rubble from the cracks all around, Strohmeier set eyes on whatever the scrambling noise was. A surprisingly shiny chanfron was located not too far to his right. He thought it was odd considering how dusty most other things were, so he reached forward to take a closer look. Just as he started sniffing it, legs popped out and a spider-like creature took a peek outside and ended up eye to eye with the blue eyed courser. 

For a few seconds, before either of them had time to process the situation, the two just stared at each other. The little creature in the chanfron was faster at snapping back to reality, and gave the much bigger courser a pinch on the nose for coming too close to its personal space. 

A pained screech left Strohmeier as he reared back, both in utter shock and pain. His muzzle started pulsating in pain, and he glared angrily at the little pincered creature who had caused his suffering. It stood still there, almost as if taunting him, and snapped its pincers one more time in the air for good measure before scuttling off, chanfron in tow. It scraped against the dusty floor, making an awful noise, but the fleeing crustacean couldn't care less about the sounds of his mobile home. 

“You little..” Strohmeier hissed between his teeth as he angrily stomped after the hermit crab. Rounding that very same corner as the crab just did, he stumbled upon what could only be described as a hoard, possibly a nest, depending on what you ask. To say he was taken aback by the mountain of stuff would definitely be an understatement.
