Your way forward looks clear at first glance, but a look at the cave ceiling reveals hundreds of bats inverted in slumber. They might be harmless Painted Bats, but they could also be blood-sucking Draculas. What do you do?

Somewhere within the Overgrown Caverns an ether colored courser is going through her daily routines. Her name is Sardinea and she makes her way through the familiar tunnels in a lazy gait, searching for food. She's scouting for hearty mushrooms today, like she is most days.  They're not her favorite meal but they're common and filling and so she's grown accustomed to them. If she had enough coin she wouldn't have to settle for cave scraps. With enough coin she could finally get out of this dungeon and back out on the surface, permenantly. It's been Sardinea's lifelong dream to have a settled, cushy life.  Fighting for your meals every darn day gets old. And dangit, she deserves better!

Her silver hooves clack and scrape against the rocky floor, echoing through the cavern. As she rounds a corner, she's met by a gathering of shadows on the stone ceiling. A colony of bats, nestled into the crevices. There were a lot of them, perhaps hundreds. Sardinea glares up at them, watching for any sign they might swarm. From her distance she couldn't be sure of the species but whether they were the harmless painted variety or the parasitic dracula, it'd be a great aggravation to disturb them. Luckily, it looks like the rats with wings were still snoozing.

Sardinea lets out a sigh of relief and lowers her gaze to the cavern floor. Ah mushrooms! A whole carpet of them just up ahead, growing steadily off the heaps of bat droppings. Delicious.
