This day in the dungeon had started off decently enough for Helissent. A good meal of water and rations, no monster attacks. Less monsters seemed to appear the closer she got to the surface.

Shivering something fierce at another gust of wind Helissent hoped that the winds here would disappear soon. She stomped a hoof against the floor. The bitter cold of this floor was something strange to her summer coat that feebly fluffed up against the biting sting. She knew it would be cold in the dungeon. That it would be crooked, would be strange. Would be different. But she had not known that caverns were good at conducting wind. That she had not expected and therefore failed to count upon.

‘The captain’s going to skin me alive.’ She thought. A light wind caused her to shiver before she decided to move on, quickly. Her pace quickened from a trot into a canter. Before long she was galloping through the caverns. Maybe she should have taken more care where she galloped. Then she would not have been surprised by the cloud of bugs.

Helissent stumbled to a stop. She dry heaved, her vision blurry from the tears that streamed down her muzzle. She slumped against the dungeon wall, gasping and gagging. She spat against the wall and heaved herself up. Hopefully she had not swallowed one.

Where was the bathroom when you needed it, she thought. She shook her head. Pin that thought. It does not matter right now. These bugs look pretty angry. Of course it’s bugs.

The angry cloud reared. They moved like one creature and this time, these bugs were not content to be waved away with torches or other sources of light. They attacked. Squishing one with a tail and another bug below her hoof, Helissent leapt back. Galloping to the other side of the room she aimed for the exit and bolted. She could not wait to finally find the exit and get out of the dungeon.
