The cave floor was slippery with condensation from the many plants breathing literal life into the dungeon. Sovereign had to move frustratingly slow to keep himself from slipping, much slower than he'd like to be moving. Not only did each minute wasted keep him from the spoils of this task, it made him a sitting duck for whatever dangers lurked within the dense foliage. 

He'd be safer in a group. He knew that. But then the pay would be split and he'd have to work twice as hard to make due. No, the risk was worth the reward, in this case. 

He came up on an overgrowth of vines blocking his path and frowned. Stepping into it would not only slow him down even more, he could get tangled and end up with a broken ankle. Instead, he reached down and PULLED with his teeth, feeling the thick cords of plants snap under the pressure. This is why he didn't anyone else. He was stocky, strong. He could bull his way through almost any obstacle. The vines gave one final snap and gave way to a clear path so he could continue on his way toward his new riches. 

For now, at least, he'd remain a team of one.
